The first thing anyone mentioned was the hat. To be fair, it was a bold statement hat. There was nothing cute about it.
Singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich released his album “After the Rain” in Aug. 2016.
Folk band "The Head and the Heart" released their third album, “Signs of Light,” in early September.
On Monday, we were fortunate enough to see “A Stray,” which premiered at SXSW. Directed by Musa Syeed, the film centers on a Somalian refugee (Oscar-nominated Barkhad Abdi) in Minneapolis after he is kicked out of his home and picks up a stray dog.
“Don’t Think Twice” is the second film written and directed by comedian Mike Birbiglia, and the film had its world premiere in Austin, Texas at the South By Southwest Film Festival.
The Chronicle was able to catch director Josh Locy’s new film “Hunter Gatherer” at its premiere at SXSW.
Sometimes we catch ourselves wishing there were more celebrities at South by Southwest. We instantly feel ashamed, but almost can’t help ourselves.
At first, it was just another out-there idea. What if, somehow, the two of us could go to the South by Southwest film festival over Spring Break?
