The Blue Devils went down to Georgia this past weekend to face off against the Yellow Jackets at the McAuley Aquatic Center. Georgia Tech and Duke split the meet, the home team’s 21st-ranked men beating the Blue Devils 258-102, while the No. 20 Duke women claimed a 201-167 victory over the Yellow Jackets.
No. 20 Duke women’s swim fell to the 17th-ranked Tar Heels 178-114, while the men’s side fell to No. 12 North Carolina 211.5-80.5 at Koury Natatorium.
Prior to Tuesday night’s game, the Blue Devils have been on a bit of a slow streak to start games. While Duke has won seven straight games dating back to the late November matchup against Seattle, the Blue Devil squad has needed time to thaw out in the first period. However, the team seems to do so much more quickly when more pressure is applied.
No. 4 Duke men’s basketball returns from a 10-day hiatus to take on Virginia Tech in Cameron Indoor Stadium. After 20 minutes of play, the Blue Devils hold a 37-27 lead.
This year, Paris hosted the 2024 Olympic Games, and the Blue Devils were well represented. Additionally, some Blue Devil swimmers and divers competed against the best in the country at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

To attend the U.S. Open, swimmers must achieve certain time standards set by USA Swimming, considered the fastest qualifying times behind U.S. Olympic Team Trials. This past week, ten of Duke’s underclass swimmers suited up to attend the 2024 U.S. Open in Greensboro, N.C.

Although Ellie Coleman and Irina Balus fell in the quarterfinals, this tournament was a product of hard-earned work and success from the Blue Devil squad. Senior Emma Jackson reached the round of 32 of singles play in her second appearance in the tournament. Stanford transfer Eleana Yu and sophomore Shavit Kimchi fell alongside Balus in the first round of play.
Ulfur Bjornsson scored twice against Howard Wednesday night.
