The number of early decision applicants to the University has risen in recent years, reaching record levels as some peer institutions have eliminated their early acceptance programs.

The Durham Public Schools Board of Education has approved the purchase of 58 acres of land from the University. The property will house a new high school for the district, which will help to alleviate overcrowding at nearby Jordan and Riverside High Schools.
Defenseman Parker McKee, drafted by the Long Island Lizards, Ned Crotty, taken by the Chicago Machine and Max Quinzani, picked by the Boston Cannons, will continue their lacrosse careers in the MLL next season.
