Duke continued its season of speed at the three-day Wolfpack Elite GAC Invitational in Greensboro. Swimmers cruised past the competition — which included Arizona, Arizona State, Northwestern, Virginia Tech, N.C. State and Army — and dropped three new school records in the process.
The Blue Devils welcomed the Wildcats for a tense two-day battle in their home Taishoff Aquatics Center. Duke split the meet against Northwestern: The Blue Devil women beat the Wildcats 194-137 while the men trailed them 225.5-107.5
Although Duke fell to South Carolina on both the men’s and women’s side, losing 145-155 and 139- 161, respectively, the Blue Devils tallied 14 first-place finishes.
