'Thrown these guys in the fire': No. 11 Duke gained valuable experience in tight contest against No. 1 Kansas

Against Kansas, at times, it was obvious that Duke needed a grow-up game. It needed to face the top-ranked, most experienced team in the nation, in a packed-out neutral site where at times it was difficult to tell if there were more fans rooting for Kansas or for Duke. And while they usually say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, for the Blue Devils to have success down the rest of their season, they will need to keep what happened in Vegas at the forefront of their minds.

Dinking Devils: The evolution of Duke club pickleball

On Thursday, Oct. 31, six Duke club pickleball members traveled to Dallas for their shot at national recognition and prize money upwards of $15,000. The idea for a club pickleball team started just under three years ago when Professor Janis Hampton noticed the sport’s rising popularity amongst students.


The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships were in the fall for the first time this season.

Duke women's tennis finishes fall slate at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships

Although Ellie Coleman and Irina Balus fell in the quarterfinals, this tournament was a product of hard-earned work and success from the Blue Devil squad. Senior Emma Jackson reached the round of 32 of singles play in her second appearance in the tournament. Stanford transfer Eleana Yu and sophomore Shavit Kimchi fell alongside Balus in the first round of play.
