Duke men’s lacrosse defeats Michigan in defensive overtime thriller behind McAdorey’s late-game hat trick

Down two goals with four minutes left in the game, McAdorey scored back-to-back to send the game to overtime, then scored the game-winner to push No. 7 Duke past No. 21 Michigan 8-7. The result, which looked in serious jeopardy for most of Saturday afternoon at Koskinen Stadium, was the Blue Devils’ first ranked win of the season.

CAMERON NORTH: No. 3 Duke men's basketball dominates Illinois 110-67 for 8th straight win in Madison Square Garden

In the heart of Manhattan on a Big Apple Saturday night, the third-ranked Blue Devils took ownership of Madison Square Garden, giving Illinois a 110-67 beating. In the first half alone, Duke scored 54 points — the best mark of its season so far. The triple-digit final score came as the fruits of a shared effort between teammates, seven of whom nabbed a double-digit day.

‘Into his own’: Ngongba’s career performance against Virginia shows his season-long development and potential

Ngongba spent only 11 minutes on the floor of the John Paul Jones Arena, but the freshman made the time count with a career-high eight points. Though his total barely dented an already-stuffed stat sheet — Flagg, Knueppel and Isaiah Evans all tallied 17 points, while Flagg grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds — Ngongba’s increasing confidence on the floor overshadowed the recaps. His recent development promises more exciting (if less-quantifiable) Blue Devil potential.

No. 3 Duke men's basketball coasts past Virginia 80-62, 3 Blue Devils finish with 17 points

No. 3 Duke downed Virginia 80-62. Though the Cavaliers kept pace with the Blue Devils through the first few minutes, Scheyer’s squad pulled away on three consecutive 3-pointers from Isaiah Evans and a dominant rebounding effort from Cooper Flagg. The Newport, Maine, native recorded a double-double in the first half alone just hours after receiving his record-tying 10th ACC Rookie of the Week honor.
