Duke’s season is officially over.
Selection Sunday came and passed, and the Blue Devils were not granted an at-large bid or selected as a COVID-replacement team.
Duke's season may not be over after all.
Obviously, the news was stunning for the Blue Devils, and many players expressed their disappointment via social media.
Duke's season is over. According to a team release, the Blue Devils will "not continue competing in the 2021 ACC Tournament" following a "positive COVID-19 test within a member of the program's Tier 1 personnel after Wednesday's game." Furthermore, athletic director Kevin White said in a statement in the release that "this will end [the team's] 2020-21 season."
In desperate times, the Blue Devils have found a way to keep on winning. And when it comes to postseason play, that only means one thing: the next one is tougher than the last.
The biggest factor in Duke keeping Louisville at bay for most of the game was an identity shift that began on the defensive side of the ball.
Tonight’s game was encouraging for the Blue Devils, as big men Mark Williams and Matthew Hurt accounted for 43 of the team’s 70 points.
