In dominant win against Pittsburgh, Duke amplified the distance between itself and the rest of the ACC

In five conference games, Duke has outscored its opponents by an average of 23.2 points per game, which is 2.4 points better than its margin for nonconference games.

And as the eye test — not just the box score — shows, that comes down to a Blue Devil backcourt realizing its elite potential.

Bench production and second-half surge help Duke men's basketball in win against Virginia Tech

Prior to Tuesday night’s game, the Blue Devils have been on a bit of a slow streak to start games. While Duke has won seven straight games dating back to the late November matchup against Seattle, the Blue Devil squad has needed time to thaw out in the first period. However, the team seems to do so much more quickly when more pressure is applied.
