Both teams came into the matchup riding high off of dominant wins, but from the onset, it was clear that any team wanting to walk out of Lee’s Family Forum with the win would need to fight for it. And Monday afternoon, that team was Duke as the team stormed its way to an impressive and hard-fought 73-62 win over Kansas State.

In only the second matchup ever between the two programs — and the first in Cameron Indoor — Duke continued to build positive momentum in an authoritative 79-47 win over Belmont. The Blue Devils limited the Bruins to 47 points on 33.3% from the field, and freshman Toby Fournier paced the offense with 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting.

The Jackrabbits proved a worthy opponent after Duke pulled away to a 38-30 halftime lead, fighting back to tie the game and raise the blood pressure of Blue Devil fans everywhere. Raised blood pressure this early in the season might not be the best for fans, but for Lawson’s team, it’s ideal.
College basketball is one of the ultimate team sports. A single player cannot defend the opposing five, nor can that player win games on their own for a prolonged period of time. As a result, Duke's deep bench will make or break this season.

Ngongba’s vision was also on display throughout, with two assists on 3-pointers. Despite not seeing the floor until today, Ngongba proved to be an outstanding talent.
Following 40-minutes of intense, unrelenting basketball, Duke emerged with a thumping 86-35 victory, holding its opponents to the fewest points in the shot clock era.
