Meet the candidates for Duke Student Government president and executive vice president

Duke Student Government elections will run from March 31 at noon to April 1 at noon, and the candidates are making their cases to the student body.

Juniors Katelyn Cai and Tara Singh are running for DSG president, while junior Dylan Cawley is running for the executive vice president position.

Katelyn Cai

Katelyn Cai, DSG chair of Democracy Day and Robertson Scholar, is promoting a vision centered around transparency, advocacy and practicality. She aims to bring students to the forefront of conversations regarding social life and push for stronger communication between DSG and the student body.

Tara Singh

Tara Singh, vice president of campus life for DSG and president of Keohane Quad Council, is running on a platform coined the “ABCs”: advocacy, belonging and connection. With an emphasis on efficiency, Singh aims to prioritize thoughtful, multifaceted DSG projects that are of students’ best interest.

Dylan Cawley

Dylan Cawley, DSG speaker of the senate and Air Force ROTC cadet, hopes to forge stronger connections between DSG’s work and its impact on the student body. He aims to work towards long-term projects that have a lasting influence on Duke’s campus.
