Rapper A Boogie Wit da Hoodie is scheduled to perform at Personal Checks (P-Checks) in Krzyzewskiville later this month, per a video shown during the Tuesday night Duke men’s basketball game.
Julius Dubose, known professionally by his stage name A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, is a 29-year-old rapper and singer from the Bronx in New York City. He has five songs that broke the Billboard Top 100, including “Look Back At It,” “Drowning,” “Pills and Automobiles,” “Swervin” and “My S---.”
A Boogie released his first studio album, “Me vs. Myself,” in 2022, followed by “Better Off Alone” in May 2024. He currently has over 14 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
P-Checks, an iconic part of the tenting experience, is an annual night in K-Ville where all members of tent groups must be present for three separate attendance checks to secure their spot for the home Duke men’s basketball game against rival North Carolina. The night is typically a festive occasion, as Duke students from all undergraduate classes come together to celebrate in advance of the long-anticipated matchup.
This year, P-Checks will take place Jan. 24, with the concert beginning at 8 p.m. The Blue Devils will take on the Tar Heels just over a week later Feb. 1.
