Following a three-game win streak to close its impressive 2024 season, Duke football enjoyed several individual honors with the release of the All-ACC teams Tuesday afternoon.
Junior cornerback Chandler Rivers was the sole Blue Devil to receive All-ACC first-team honors. The Beaumont, Texas, native built off a strong sophomore season to produce a dominant 2024 campaign, finishing with three interceptions, eight pass breakups and 7.5 tackles for loss. His season highlight came against Florida State Oct. 18, as he returned a Brock Glenn interception for a touchdown early on to help the Blue Devils take down the Seminoles for the first time ever.
Four Blue Devils were named to the All-ACC second team — sophomore right tackle Brian Parker II, graduate guard Caleb Krings, graduate defensive tackle Kendy Charles and junior safety Terry Moore. Parker, the recipient of the Blue Devils’ offensive rookie of the year award in 2023, produced a strong season on one of the nation’s best pass-blocking offensive lines. The Cincinnati native headlined a unit that allowed only 12 sacks on sophomore quarterback Maalik Murphy all season.
Krings, a graduate transfer from Elon, also had a successful season anchoring the offensive line alongside Parker. The Fayetteville, N.C., native primarily played at left guard during the season, but operated as Duke’s right guard in its win against Middle Tennessee State Sept. 21.
Charles, who transferred from Liberty in the offseason, proved crucial to a dominant defensive front in his first season as a Blue Devil. The Orange Park, Fla., native finished the 2024 regular season with two sacks, seven tackles for loss and 49 overall tackles in his final season as a collegiate athlete.
Following a versatile sophomore season that featured duties as a return specialist, Terry Moore dialed in a tremendous year as Duke’s starting free safety. The Washington, N.C., native recorded three interceptions, seven tackles for loss and 70 overall tackles, the latter being the most of any member of the Blue Devils’ strong secondary. Moore also finished the 2024 regular season as the ACC’s highest-graded player in coverage according to Pro Football Focus (PFF).
Three Blue Devils landed on the All-ACC third team, starting with the team’s two most productive wide receivers — graduate students Jordan Moore and Eli Pancol. Moore, who received the eighth-most votes for ACC Player of the Year in the preseason, produced a strong season in his final year of eligibility. The Sykesville, Md., native caught 50 passes for 798 yards and seven touchdowns en route to his second-straight All-ACC campaign.
After missing the entire 2023 season with a lower-body injury, Pancol emerged as a valuable receiver for Duke’s offense in 2024, earning the ACC’s Brian Piccolo Award for the league’s most courageous player. The Pendleton, Ind., native led the Blue Devils in catches (55) and receiving touchdowns (nine) while racking up 741 receiving yards. Pancol’s most memorable outing came at home against Virginia Tech Nov. 23, where he hauled in 175 yards in the first quarter alone en route to a 188-yard, three-touchdown performance.
Linebacker Ozzie Nicholas rounded out Duke’s All-ACC third-team presence. The graduate transfer from Princeton helped lead a steady linebacking corps, finishing with a team-high 89 tackles. The Encinitas, Calif., native always seemed to have a knack for the ball, exemplifying this in the Blue Devils’ win against Florida State, when he recorded an interception and a forced fumble.
The Blue Devils earned eight All-ACC honorable mentions to make 15 total honorees for the program. Five were on defense — defensive end Wesley Williams, defensive tackle Aaron Hall, linebackers Alex Howard and Tre Freeman and safety Jaylen Stinson. Freeman, who received a second-team All-ACC nod last season, joined Jordan Moore as the only second-time honoree on this Blue Devil team. All told, these Blue Devils helped lead one of the nation’s more impressive defensive units, which allowed just 22.2 points per game.
Two special teamers rounded out Duke’s All-ACC honorable mentions. Freshman punter Kade Reynoldson continued Duke’s streak of punters on the All-ACC team, as the Gold Coast, Australia, native racked up 70 punts, by far the most in the conference. Meanwhile, freshman Que’Sean Brown was named an honorable mention as a return specialist.
Duke awaits its bowl announcement Sunday in search of its first 10-win season since 2013.
