Jon Scheyer strikes again.
On Saturday afternoon, five-star wing Shelton Henderson announced his commitment to Duke via 247Sports’ YouTube channel, giving the Blue Devils their fourth commit of the cycle. Henderson’s announcement follows commitments from Cameron and Cayden Boozer along with Nikolas Khamenia. The Bellaire, Texas, native took an official visit to campus during this year’s Countdown to Craziness, prompting him to choose Duke over hometown Texas and ACC foe Louisville.

While Henderson is the younger brother of Portland Trailblazer Scoot Henderson — the 2023 No. 3 overall pick — his game seems most similar to current Blue Devil Sion James, a role the incoming freshman could fill for next season. At 6-foot-6 and 220 pounds, Henderson is a big, physical wing who can overpower smaller players on the perimeter and get into the lane with ease, averaging 22 points and eight rebounds during his junior season of high school. On the defensive end, his size will evidently be beneficial to guard positions 1-through-4.
As the third-ranked small forward according to 247Sports, the Bellaire product gives Scheyer another elite option to deploy on the wing and a player that is physically ready to contribute at the Power-4 level.
