They say the devil is in the details. But in Durham, the Blue Devils are in the details — and numbers:

On Sunday, Arizona State traveled to Durham to play Duke men’s basketball in an exhibition game benefitting the Duke Children’s Hospital. The Blue Devils struggled to hit from behind the arc in the first half, only managing to shoot 2-for-13. Once the second half rolled around, they completely flipped the script, largely thanks to freshman Kon Knueppel. In his first test against a Division I opponent, Knueppel scored 19 points to lead all scorers. He caught fire as the game went on, knocking down four 3-pointers, including an and-1. Not only did the Milwaukee native score at an elite rate, but he added a team-high four assists as well. If Knueppel can continue to perform at a similar level for the remainder of the season, it will be a good sign for the team’s national title ambitions.

With the ACC regular season title on the line, Duke women’s soccer’s Mia Oliaro scored two goals to defeat No. 2-ranked Wake Forest.  The sophomore provided the clutch factor, scoring both goals in the second half to earn Duke a massive road win. By scoring against the Demon Deacons, Oliaro also continued her remarkable streak of eight games with a goal or an assist. As the Blue Devils head towards the postseason, Oliaro’s contributions will be vital to the team’s success down the stretch.

Against Longwood on Tuesday, Duke men’s soccer forward Adam Luckhurst became the second Blue Devil to reach double-digit goals this season. The game was dominated by Duke from the start, as it took a 3-0 lead into halftime and went on to win 4-1. The second of the four goals, which proved to be the winner, was scored by Luckhurst. This marked his 10th goal of the season, an impressive milestone for the graduate transfer from South Carolina.

With its win against Boston College Friday night, the Duke field hockey team made it seven straight games without a loss. This impressive undefeated streak dates back over a month to a loss against Virginia on September 27. With their final game of the season coming at home this Friday against No-2 North Carolina, the Blue Devils will look to capitalize on their momentum and make it eight straight wins with a victory against the Tar Heels.

Duke golfer Luke Sample shot 210 to finish with an even-par at The Clerico, a tournament which took place at Oaks Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.. As a whole, the Blue Devils finished third in the tournament, collectively shooting 867. Sample displayed his excellence, coming in second place among individuals at The Clerico and being one of only two golfers to finish at an even-par or better.
