The Chronicle’s guide to staying on campus this Thanksgiving break

Duke’s Thanksgiving break begins next Tuesday and ends the following Monday. If you're staying on campus this break, here's a guide on everything from modified dining hours to when the Student Health Center closes next week.

Housing

Students living on East and West Campus can access their residence halls and apartments with their DukeCards during Thanksgiving break. The Housing and Residence Life office will be closed from Nov. 23 to 24.

Dining

Duke Dining will run a modified schedule throughout the break, with at least one location open each day. 

Some locations will close earlier than usual on Nov. 21. Farmstead will close an hour earlier than usual at 8 p.m., and Cafe will close at 7 p.m. Trinity Cafe will close an hour earlier than its regular time at 10 p.m.

Cafe and The Skillet will be open Nov. 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Farmstead, Ginger & Soy, Gyotaku, Il Forno, Sprout and Tandoor will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. McDonald's will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Panera will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sazon will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

All Duke Dining locations will be closed on Thanksgiving Day besides Sazon, which will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The following day, McDonald's will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Nasher Museum Cafe will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sazon will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 24. 

All Brodhead Center and Bryan Center dining locations will return to their normal hours starting next Saturday. 

Marketplace, Trinity Cafe and Pitchforks will reopen that Sunday. Marketplace will be open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Trinity Cafe will be open from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Pitchfork’s will resume its normal 7:30 a.m. to 3 a.m. hours. 

Transportation services

Transit services will run on a modified schedule beginning Nov. 22 and return to normal operations that Sunday.

One C1 and one Swift Express will provide regular service until 9 p.m. on Nov. 22. Duke Vans will run regularly until 11:59 p.m.

Duke Transit and Duke Vans services will not be available on Thanksgiving Day.

From Nov. 24 to 25, the C1 route will be in service from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the Swift route will be in service from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., but Duke Vans will not be in service.

Recreational facilities and Student Health

Wilson Recreation Center will be open from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Brodie Gym will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 22. 

Both recreational facilities will close on Thanksgiving Day and the day after Thanksgiving. 

Wilson and Brodie facilities will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday.

The Student Health Center will close Nov. 22 at noon and reopen Nov. 27.

Libraries and mail services

Perkins, Bostock and Lilly Libraries will close at 3 p.m. on Nov. 22. Perkins and Bostock will reopen on Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. and Lilly will reopen at 2 p.m. 

Rubenstein Library will close Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. and reopen the following Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Student Mailbox Center package desk in the Bryan Center will be closed from Nov. 23 to 24.
