The cancelled game will count as a win for Duke and a loss for Miami, as it counts as a forfeit by the Hurricanes.

Duke will have to wait another game to actually play its first ACC contest.

The Blue Devils were originally scheduled to play Miami Sunday, but the Hurricanes have had to cancel due to COVID-19 protocols. This game will go as a win in Duke’s record and loss in Miami’s, per ACC policy, which rules this as a Miami forfeit.

This news comes hours after the Duke men’s basketball program announced it would play Elon Saturday, after two different nonconference opponents canceled on the Blue Devils’ Saturday game slot due to positive COVID-19 tests within their programs. The women's program will not be looking for a replacement game, due to this being an ACC match, a team spokesperson told The Chronicle.

Duke’s next contest is Dec. 21 against Charleston Southern.
