It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and there’s plenty to do in the Triangle to get in the holiday spirit.

Pick your own pecans

Historic Oak View County Park has your pecan fix covered. The farm in Raleigh is open for visitors to hunt for fallen pecans. Picking takes place Monday through Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Be dazzled by the lights

There will be plenty of light shows to see in town.

Celebrate Hanukkah in Raleigh at the public Menorah lighting. On Nov. 29 at 6 p.m., Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin will lead a Menorah lighting ceremony at the Duke Energy Center for Performing Arts. There will be warm drinks, fresh latkes and traditional donuts.

Durham’s iconic Lucky Strike Tower will be lit during a celebration Dec. 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The celebration will feature dance and vocal talent from around Durham as well. On Dec. 9, American Tobacco Campus will host the Durham Holiday Night Market with live music and entertainment and over 50 vendors.

The Mangum Family Christmas Lights show takes place at 7510 Guess Road from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day until New Year’s Eve. If you drive to the show, you can see the lights synchronized to music by tuning to 90.3 FM.

The Coastal Credit Union Music Park in Raleigh is hosting the Magic of Lights—a drive-through experience with LED lights and digital animations—until Jan. 2. Magic of Lights is selling admission tickets ranging from $20 to $32 per car.

Skate around town
