The Atlantic Coast Conference announced its updated COVID-19 game rescheduling policy Monday. The rescheduling policies that have applied to fall sports this year will now apply to men’s and women’s basketball and wrestling.
Per the conference’s medical advisory group, those rules are:
- A team with insufficient players to compete due to COVID-19 will forfeit the game, and that loss will count in the conference standings.
- A team without sufficient players due to a non-COVID-19 reason can have its game rescheduled, in accordance with the conference’s existing rescheduling policy.
- If neither team can compete due to COVID-19, a loss will be given to both teams and applied in the conference standings.
All Duke student-athletes must comply with the University’s COVID-19 vaccination policy that requires either proof of vaccination or an approved medical or religious exemption. As of August 31, 98% of students were fully vaccinated.
