Tim Walsh, Duke’s vice president for finance, will leave the University at the beginning of October.
Walsh, who oversees Duke’s accounting and finances and also serves as University treasurer, has served in the role since 2011. The decision was announced in a Friday statement by Executive President Tallman Trask, who himself will leave Duke Dec. 1.
Walsh will be replaced by Rachel Satterfield, currently assistant vice president for finance and university controller, as interim vice president for finance, and Tori Nevois, currently associate vice president and deputy treasurer, as interim treasurer, Trask wrote in the statement. Both of those appointments must be approved by the Board of Trustees.
When he steps down, Walsh will move on to Huron Consulting—where he worked prior to coming to Duke—where he will become managing director of their higher education division. He will continue to act as a consultant to Duke during the transition away from his tenure.
