Four days after Wofford took down North Carolina with star Tar Heel point guard Cole Anthony sidelined, the Terriers will get another chance to topple an undermanned Tobacco Road titan.
Duke will be without its own star point guard Thursday evening against Wofford, as sophomore Tre Jones will sit with a mild foot sprain in the Blue Devils' first contest in nearly two weeks, per the team. Stadium's Jeff Goodman initially reported the news earlier in the day.
“It is out of an abundance of caution that we’re holding Tre out tonight,” head coach Mike Krzyzewski said in a statement released by the team Thursday evening. “We are confident this is minor and we expect him back very soon.”
In Jones' stead, junior Jordan Goldwire is expected to notch the start at point guard, though freshman wings Wendell Moore Jr. and Cassius Stanley will likely get more run as well.
