Jada Claude

Year: Freshman

Height: 6-foot-0

Position: Guard/Forward

Last year’s statline: N/A

Game Breakdown: Claude arrives in Durham as the last freshman to commit in Duke's 2019 class and is rated as a three-star prospect according to ESPN. The Georgia native racked up numerous All-State accolades during her high school career and averaged an impressive 20.2 points and 14.4 rebounds per contest in her senior season.

Despite being the lowest rated incoming recruit, Claude was not afraid of the moment in the Blue and White scrimmage last week, taking eight shots and making two of them. The Whitewater product showed that she can be a formidable inside presence with six rebounds, however, she'll need to work on her discipline as she racked up five fouls in 27 minutes. The Blue Devils do return a fairly tall roster this season, but Claude is a tough, quick rebounder who can make an impact flying to the ball.

Role on the Team: The 2019-20 season figures to be a learning year for the freshman as she develops her offensive game, looking to make a bigger impact later in her career. Claude definitely has the athleticism and rebounding prowess to hold her own on the court, but in all likelihood, she will struggle to find consistent minutes behind the likes of upperclassmen forwards Leaonna Odom and Jade Williams.

Projected Stats: 0.4 PPG, 1.3 RPG, 2.4 MPG
