Two female students said they were touched inappropriately by a man Tuesday night on Campus Drive around 9 p.m.
A DukeAlert was issued for the pair of incidents at 10:59 p.m. Tuesday, approximately after two hours after the reported incidents.
The two reported incidents occurred in two different places near the campus thoroughfare. Duke Police believe the incidents are related, according to the alert.
The first occurred near Campus Drive and Swift Avenue and the second was near Campus Drive and Anderson Street.
No injuries were reported, according to the alert. The suspect was wearing an orange shirt.
The suspect approached the students individually and touched them inappropriately. One of the female students reported the incident through the LiveSafe mobile app.
This is the second DukeAlert in the past 24 hours. An attempted armed robbery was reported at around 10:56 p.m. Monday night in the Wannamaker fire lane. The DukeAlert sent out about this incident did not clarify whether the victim was a student.
A second armed robbery was reported to occur on Burch Avenue around 11 p.m. Monday night, just a over a mile away from the fire lane. A car was stolen at gunpoint in the off-campus incident.
John Dailey, chief of Duke University Police Department, said Tuesday that investigators are looking for connections between the two robberies.
Anyone with information about the suspect should call Duke Police at 919-684-2444, Working@Duke tweeted.
