After missing out on adding five-star wing Kevin Knox last Saturday, the Blue Devils will add to their already-impressive haul with yet another top 10 prospect.
Five-star guard Trevon Duval, the top point guard in the Class of 2017, committed to Duke Monday morning with a video created by The Players' Tribune.

The Wilmington, Del., native chose the Blue Devils ahead of Kansas, Arizona, Seton Hall and Baylor and will be joining a loaded backcourt that features experience and lights-out shooting in senior Grayson Allen as well as freshman shooting guard Gary Trent Jr, the No. 8 prospect in the ESPN 100 who committed in November.
Duval is the No. 5 prospect in the ESPN 100 and offers extraordinary athleticism as a natural floor general with impressive court vision. Compared to Russell Westbrook by ESPN, Duval also boasts elite ball-handling skills, which might remind Duke fans of Kyrie Irving. The 6-foot-3 guard led Florida-based IMG Academy to a 26-2 record in his senior season and the No. 2 seed at Dick's High School Nationals, averaging 16.2 points per game and 7.7 assists per game for the Ascenders.
Despite his ability to finish through traffic and take over games, Duval struggles with his jump shot—an area of improvement to look for this upcoming season.
The signing is arguably the most important one thus far for the Blue Devils, who struggled with the lack of a true point guard this season. With Duval’s ability to facilitate for his teammates, he has the potential to find plenty of open looks for Trent Jr. and Allen, who was unable to live up to the preseason hype—partially because he was forced to be the team's primary ball-handler.
Now, Duke finally has its true point guard, and Duval figures to start right away and get plenty of playing time after guard Frank Jackson elected to stay in the NBA Draft Friday.
Krzyzewski's lineup for next season is essentially finalized as the Blue Devils are not expected to sign center Mohamed Bamba, who will likely end up at Kentucky or Texas.
