The top-ranked Blue Devils posted an impressive win in the title game of the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Sunday, topping No. 21 Rhode Island 75-65 with virtually no depth. Duke's five starters all played at least 33 minutes and all scored in double figures, led by sophomore Luke Kennard's 24 points. The Blue Devils also managed to outrebound the Rams despite using a four-guard lineup, with 6-foot-9 forward Amile Jefferson grabbing 15 boards.

The Chronicle's Brian Pollack broke down Duke's win under unforeseen circumstances from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn.
