Former Blue Devil Trajan Langdon discusses Alaska in new video

Former Duke point guard Trajan Langdon addressed common misconceptions about his home state of Alaska in a YouTube advertisement April 1 for Lawless Jerky, a beef jerky company based in Arizona.

In the video, Langdon teaches misinformed residents of the contiguous United States how Alaskans refer to the vehicle most would call a snowmobile among several other humorous factoids.

Langdon shot 42.6 percent from 3-point range and averaged 14.5 points per game during his college career, earning him the nickname "The Alaskan Assassin." The 6-foot-4 point guard was a first-team All-ACC selection as a redshirt senior and captained the 1998-99 Duke team that went 37-2 and made the national championship game before losing 77-74 against Connecticut.

The Blue Devils’ only other loss that year was against 15th-ranked Cincinnati in the championship game of the Great Alaska Shootout, an early-season tournament held in Langdon’s hometown of Anchorage.

Langdon was the No. 11 overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft and played sparingly in three seasons for the Cleveland Cavaliers before moving on to an illustrious nine-year career in Europe. He was hired as the assistant general manager of the Brooklyn Nets March 8 after a stint as the Cavaliers' director of player administration and basketball operations.
