After being named ACC Defensive Player of the Year, the awards continue to pour in for Jeremy Cash.
Duke's strike safety was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press Sunday, the fifth organization to include Cash on its first team list.
Cash racked up more than 100 tackles for the third straight season in 2015, meeting opponents near the line of scrimmage and penetrating into the backfield. Eighteen of his tackles resulted in lost yardage, and the Miami native also picked up 2.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.
Cash is the second Blue Devil to receive the first team nod from the AP in as many years, after offensive guard Laken Tomlinson earned the honor last season.
Duke fans will get one final chance to watch Cash in a Blue Devil uniform in the Pinstripe Bowl Dec. 26 against Indiana before he sets his sights on the NFL draft, where he is likely to be one of the top safety prospects.
