Tomlinson reeling in All-America Recognitions; could be one of the first guards taken in the 2015 NFL Draft

Although his name doesn't always show up in the box score, Laken Tomlinson has been pinned to a slew of preseason All-America teams this summer.

But his latest accolade may just be his best yet.

Tomlinson received a first team All-America honor from Fox Sports, marking the first time he has been named to the primary All-America team. Tomlinson was previously named a second team All-American by a number of media outlets, most notably Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.

It is not difficult to see why Tomlinson is one of the nation's top players, as he led an offensive line that paved the way for one of the most successful rushing attacks in the Cutcliffe era and gave up the fewest sacks in the ACC. He is also one of the most experienced players on this year's squad, having started 39 consecutive games, including one ACC Championship Game and two bowl games.

If Tomlinson can firmly anchor the offensive line this season, look for him to be one of the top, if not the top, offensive guard in the 2015 NFL Draft. CBS Sports currently has Tomlinson as the No. 7 guard in the draft, but some experts think he can sneak his way into the first two rounds.

Tomlinson and the Blue Devils open the season on Saturday August 30 against Elon at 6 p.m.
