Duke extends first Class of 2017 offer to Troy Brown Jr.

Fresh off the commitment of Chase Jeter, Coach K and the Blue Devil staff are back to work, but this time they're thinking a step ahead. Duke reportedly offered Troy Brown Jr., the No. 2-ranked recruit in the Class of 2017 by ESPN this past weekend.

It is rare that the Blue Devils offer a rising sophomore, but Brown Jr. is a rare player. After unofficially visiting Duke with his AAU coach this weekend, Krzyzewski was impressed enough to offer the point guard a chance to attend Duke, according to Phase 1 Hoops.

Brown is a 6-foot-4, 175-pound point guard from Las Vegas, Nev.—same as Jeter, who was quick to offer his congratulations to the fellow Vegas standout.

Duke joins UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State as schools to offer the talented youngster. We will talk about Brown’s offer and more in tomorrow’s Recruiting Roundup, but in the meantime enjoy the highlight of Duke’s first 2017 offer.
