Class of 2015 recruit Chase Jeter to announce decision Monday

Chase Jeter will announce his college decision this Monday night at 7:00 PM EST on ESPNU. The Las Vegas native is ranked No. 13 in the ESPN 100 and is Duke's top priority when looking at the Class of 2015, as Luke Kennard remains the only committed player at this point. Jeff Goodman first reported the story on Twitter Friday afternoon:

ESPN released this press statement shortly after the report:

Chase Jeter, No. 13 on the ESPN 100, is expected to make his college announcement during ESPNU’s adidas Nations telecast on Monday, August 4 (7 p.m. ET). The 6’10’’ power forward from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nev. is expected to decide between Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Oregon, UCLA and UNLV.”

As we covered already this morning, it is thought that Jeter is likely to choose Duke. This is what ESPN’s national recruiting director Paul Biancardi had to say about the prospect:

“In a class where the big men make it special, Jeter is one of the elite post players, He has the ability to score in the low post with his back to the basket utilizing the jump hook inside, his go to move. Additionally, he is a very committed and consistent rebounder who runs the floor well resulting in easy baskets on offense and preventing them on defense.”

We will continue to update the story with more details as they emerge and will have coverage of Monday's announcement here at The Blue Zone and on Twitter.
