HALFTIME: Duke 43, Florida State 25

With a advantage over Florida State, the Blue Devils enter the half with the lead for the eighth-straight game. Freshman Jabari Parker leads Duke with 12 points and five rebounds

Observations from the first half:

  • Head coach Mike Krzyzewski moved away from the line-change substitution strategy he had been employing in recent games. Eleven Blue Devils saw action through frequent substitutions, but Krzyzewski sent them into the game in ones and twos rather than switching in and out entire lineups.
  • Harry Giles, a 6-foot-9 forward and the top-ranked recruit in the Class of 2016, is in attendance, taking in the game from behind Duke's bench. Giles has received offers from Wake Forest, Florida State, Kentucky, North Carolina, N.C. State, Ohio State and Duke, with the Blue Devils extending their scholarship offer last March.
  • Once again, Duke's basketball coaches are in matching white Nike running shoes for Coaches v.s Cancer Suits and Sneakers Awareness Weekend. The annual event aims to bring attention to cancer prevention efforts and the fight against the disease.
