Overview: After going 16-16 last season, the Bulldogs hope to improve this year after making the NCAA Tournament and almost upsetting No. 1 seed Syracuse in 2012. UNC-Asheville will return just two starters from last year’s squad, including forward Will Weeks, who scored 9.0 points per game last season, garnering Big South All-Freshman accolades.

The Bulldogs welcome back redshirt senior Jaron Lane, who sat out the 2012-2013 season with an ankle injury. He should have an immediate impact, as he averaged 11.5 points per game in 2011-2012 before his injury.

Under first-year head coach Nick McDevitt, UNC-Asheville will look to continue its run as one of the more dominant teams in the Big South. McDevitt will face obstacles in his first year at the helm, as the Bulldogs haven't undergone a coaching change in 17 years.

One thing that needs to go right: Senior Trent Meyer and redshirt senior Jaron Lane successfully lead a young team composed of seven freshman and four sophomores.

One thing that could go wrong: The Bulldogs don't find enough scoring after graduating wings Jeremy Atkinson and Keith Hornsby, who combined for about 33 points per game a season ago.
