Duke basketball ranked No. 4 in preseason Coaches Poll

Duke is ranked No. 4 in the country in the first USA Today Coaches Poll of the season, which was released Thursday afternoon. The Blue Devils received three of the 32 first-place votes.

Kentucky was ranked first overall, receiving 16 first-place votes. Michigan State is ranked second and also received three first-place nods and defending national champion Louisville comes in at No. 3, but received 10 first-place votes. Arizona rounds out the top five.

Duke's opponent in the Champions Classic Nov. 12, Kansas, came in at No. 6 in the rankings, with ACC newcomer Syracuse close behind at No. 7.

Five ACC teams made the preseason top 25. In addition to the Blue Devils and Orange, North Carolina came in at No. 11, Notre Dame was ranked 22nd and Virginia 25th. Pittsburgh also received votes but sat eight slots out of the top 25.
