DevilGroceries, a grocery delivery service, has filled an essential niche in the Duke community, one created by hungry, produce-deprived students.
The business venture was started by juniors John Hosey and Anshuman Prasad after a summer of living on campus together hosts a website through which students living on all three campuses can order groceries and fresh produce to be delivered to their rooms. Orders can be placed any day of the week with a small transaction fee, and deliveries are made every Sunday. Follow them on a delivery:
1. Setup
2. Sorting
3. Ready to go!
4. Delivery crew sets out- John with longboard in hand
5. Delivery complete
Here's the crew!
Following the first few weeks of trial deliveries, the John and Anshuman have been finalizing their business plan and working with the administration in order to extend payment options to food points. DevilGroceries hopes to relaunch in January to a much wider delivery base.
