Duke basketball employees have posted updates on social media throughout the summer about the refinishing and repainting of Cameron Indoor Stadium's floor. A recent photo posted Monday by Duke Blue Planet revealed that the 2013-14 edition of Coach K Court is going to look slightly different than it did last season.
As you can see in the picture below, the new court features just one circle at half court, rather than an outer circle and inner circle, and an enlarged Duke logo.
Previously, the floor at Cameron Indoor Stadium featured a smaller Duke logo within the inner jump circle at midcourt. In honor of what is now a throwback design, you can see the court's original design in this picture of JJ Redick and Shelden Williams from our photoshoot archives. Several years ago, the basketball hoop was removed from the center of the emblem and filled in with white, which is how the court looked up until the end of last season.
Will the minor facelift to Coach K Court affect the Blue Devils' play next season? No. But the court's new look is definitely an aesthetic change that could take some getting used to.
What do you think of the court's new design? Let us know in our poll below.
