Duke not among finalists for Trey Lyles

Duke has made a lot of Final Four appearances in the last two decades, but the Blue Devils missed out on one when coveted 2014 recruited Trey Lyles trimmed his list of schools.

Lyles, ranked the No. 4 recruit in the Class of 2014 by ESPN, announced last night at the Nike Peach Jam in North Augusta, S.C. that Duke and UCLA were no longer in contention for his services, according to Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports.

A 6-foot-10 forward who plays his high school basketball in Indianapolis, Lyles most recently competed for Canada at the FIBA U19 World Championship in Prague, Czech Republic, averaging 20.6 points per game in seven contests.

Louisville, Kentucky, Florida and Butler are Lyles' top four schools. He will play for the Canadian squad at next week's Nike Global Challenge in Washington D.C.
