Shane Battier celebrates second NBA championship at Denny's

Most players who just won an NBA championship would tell you they're going to Disney World. But after capturing his second ring last night, former Blue Devil Shane Battier went straight to Denny's.

Instead of taking his talents to South Beach and celebrating with his Miami Heat teammates at Club Story—where Pat Riley, Drake and even San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green made appearances—Battier and a few of his closest friends decided to enjoy a quiet evening in their booth at Denny's.

It was certainly a less expensive alternative to hitting the club. The Heat racked up a $200,000 bar tab at last year's championship celebration at Club LIV. A Grand Slam at Denny's will run you a cool $5.99—Battier didn't even splurge on a soda.

But after racking up 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc in Miami's 95-88 Game 7 victory, Battier deserves to celebrate however he wants.

Battier wasn't the only prominent Duke figure involved in Miami's post-championship celebration. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski, who has coached Heat forward LeBron James to two Olympic gold medals, was one of many celebrities featured in a Nike commercial that ran shortly after Miami's victory to congratulate James on back-to-back championships.
