Rodney Hood injures Achilles Tendon in USA Basketball practice

Reports have surfaced that redshirt sophomore Rodney Hood has suffered a right Achilles Tendon injury while practicing for USA Basketball on Wednesday night.

Hood, who sat out all of last season after transferring to Duke from Mississippi State, has been trying out for the World University Games and was recently named a finalist for a spot on the roster.

Though Achilles injuries are never a good thing for basketball players, people close to the situation are "nervous but optimistic."

Hood left the gym Wednesday night on crutches, but reportedly didn't seem to be in "distress."

According to Bret Strelow of the Fayetteville Observer, more won't be known about Hood's injury until Friday.
