Former Duke quarterback Thaddeus Lewis finally got his chance at seeing the field in the NFL last year for the Cleveland Browns and didn't disappoint. But the Browns cut him loose at the end of the season.
The Lions have been awarded Lewis on waivers, according to Pro Football Talk, adding him to their quarterback depth that includes starter Matthew Stafford and backup Shaun Hill, who is coming off foot surgery.
Starting the last game of the regular season for Cleveland last year, Lewis completed 22-of-32 passes for 204 yards in a 24-10 loss to the Steelers. Lewis had one touchdown and one interception.
In four years at Duke, Lewis threw for 10,065 yards with 67 touchdowns and 40 interceptions.
Lewis was always known for being a great quote and still is: you can follow him on Twitter @t_lew9.
He's always filled with great advice, like:
Being a man is not about doing a whole bunch of women wrong but doing one women right.

Lewis is no longer the only Duke quarterback in the NFL—the Falcons took Sean Renfree in the seventh round in April's draft.
