Kimberly Jenkins, former adviser to the president and provost for innovation and entrepreneurship, has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Research Triangle Foundation of North Carolina, according to a Research Triangle Park press release.
Jenkins, Trinity ’76, contributed to the Duke community during her time at the University, through means such as developing the Duke in Silicon Valley initiative. She resigned in July from her role as senior adviser after two years in the position. Bob Geolas, Research Triangle Foundation Chairman, noted that Jenkins’ characteristics and experiences at Duke align well with RTP’s goals.
“The work of Kimberly Jenkins honors the precepts of our founders. The entrepreneurial spirit has always played a key in Research Triangle Park’s achievements, and she embodies those valuable qualities,” Geolas said.
The Research Triangle Foundation is a private non-profit organization that manages the Research Triangle Park. Located primarily in Durham County, RTP contains over 170 companies focused on producing competitive scientific research.
