Marshall Plumlee has had surgery on his injured left foot, his older brother Mason said on Twitter late Tuesday morning. No official statement has been made by the university yet regarding Marshall's surgery or a timetable for his return.
Mason commented on the length of Marshall's foot operation, and sent a second tweet later to let the public know the surgery had been a success.

Successful surgery for Marsh— mason plumlee (@masonplumlee) April 23, 2013
After redshirting his freshman season, Marshall was poised to break into Duke's rotation this season before a stress fracture sidelined him for nearly all of the Blue Devils' non-conference schedule. He saw his first collegiate action in a Dec. 19 win against Cornell, but played just two minutes before his bothersome foot forced him out of the game.
Even after his return to the lineup, Marshall continued to wear a boot on his foot throughout the season as a precautionary measure. The 6-foot-11 center is the only true center slated to return on Duke's roster for the 2013-14 season, and was expected to compete for a starting role this summer.
