Florida QB Brissett to transfer, considering Duke

Sophomore quarterback Jacoby Brissett entered the season in an open competition for the Florida quarterback position. After losing to Jeff Driskell, Brissett will transfer, according to the AP, and Duke is on his list of five schools.

Brissett has narrowed his choices down to West Virginia, Louisville, Arkansas, N.C. State and Duke. Brissett has started three games in two seasons, completing 41-of-74 passes for 455 yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions.

A recruit out of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Brissett was a three-star recruit in the class of 2011 according to ESPN, rated a 78 overall. At 6-foot-4 and 220 lbs., he was also recruited by Alabama, Miami, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Washington.

According to his scouting profile, Brissett is a strong pocket passer with very good arm strength and the physical tools to be a successful quarterback.

Sophomore Anthony Boone and redshirt freshman Thomas Sirk figure to battle for the starting position next year if Brissett does not come to Durham.
