Beginning on Dan Patrick's radio show, a rumor began circulating today that the Duke basketball team held a late night practice when the team returned to Durham following Wednesday's 90-63 defeat to Miami.
Mike Krzyzewski has publicly denied the rumor to CBS' John Goodman:
Mike Krzyzewski also told me that his team did not practice at all last night after the loss. Not for three hours, not for one minute.

Here is some of what Patrick said, as transcribed by Duke Hoop Blog. A producer has tweeted that it was a joke, but decide for yourself. Patrick:
Am I allowed to tell people what happened with Duke Basketball? Now we’re looking into this. The Duke charter landed in Durham at 12:42 in the morning. Practice started at 1;30 AM, finished up at 4:45 AM. We’re being told by a couple of people at Duke that Coach K not pleased after getting blown out by 27.
Not only are there restrictions on how much a team can practice in a given week—a max of four hours per day and 20 hours in a week—NCAA rules prohibit practices from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. (in most circumstances).
In the end, this probably seems like much ado nothing, so here is a clip from the movie Miracle about the 1980 United States Olympic hockey team that won the gold medal. In a famous scene, head coach Herb Brooks makes the team do sprints on the ice after a disappointing 3-3 tie to Norway.
Again!
I guess the real question is, who is Duke's Mike Eruzione?
