Kentucky strikes again on the recruiting trail.
Wildcat head coach John Calipari received a commitment from Karl Towns—the top-ranked player in the class of 2015—Tuesday morning.
The clear leader throughout Towns' recruitment, Calipari beat out Duke, Florida, N.C. State, Rutgers and North Carolina, among others, to secure a huge commitment from one of the better prospects in high school basketball. The decision does not come as a surprise because the Metuchen, N.J. product played for Calipari on the Dominican Republic national team over the summer, hence the already well developed relationship between the two.
Towns, a versatile 7-foot forward/center with perimeter skills, also announced on Tuesday that he will reclassify to the class of 2014.
