Duke target Jabari Parker announces college decision today

Today is the day that the Duke coaching staff and fan base have been waiting for—heralded recruit Jabari Parker will make his college announcement today at 4 pm EST at his high school, Simeon Career Academy.

The announcement will be televised on ESPNU.

Parker—the No. 2 player in the class of 2013—will decide between Duke, Michigan State, BYU, Florida and Stanford.

As of Wednesday, a few of the most respected recruiting anaylsts in the country were picking Duke to win the services of the do-it-all 6-foot-8 swingman, who is considered to be one of the best high school basketball prospects to come along in recent years.

On Tuesday night, Blue Devil head coach Mike Krzyzewski was in Chicago to conduct a final in-home visit with Parker and his family. Michigan State had its in-home with him last night.

Duke currently has two signees for the class of 2013: small forward Semi Ojeleye and shooting guard Matt Jones. Both are consensus top-50 recruits.

Parker is the only other player in the class of 2013 that the Blue Devil coaching staff is courting aggressively at this time.
