Wednesday, Adam Zagoria of Zags Blog tweeted, "Karl Towns, the top soph in the nation, will commit Dec. 4, sources confirm to @SNYtv.@fitzwriter had it 1st."

The 6-foot-11 versatile forward is the No. 1 overall player in the class of 2015, according to ESPN.

In less than a month, the Metuchen, New Jersey native will pick between Duke, Kentucky, N.C. State, North Carolina and Florida, among others.

The Wildcats are the favorite to score a huge commitment from the underclassman largely because Towns played for head coach John Calipari this summer on the Dominican Republic national team. Towns also visited Lexington for Big Blue Madness in October.

Duke fans have reason to be optimistic about Towns too though. Head coach Mike Krzyzewski has a fairly strong relationship with the youngster after coaching against his Dominican Republic Team, while leading Team USA this summer.

Towns has also been on Duke's campus twice in the past several months, including just a few weeks ago for Countdown to Craziness.

The news that Towns will end his recruitment this early comes as a surprise for most. Lately though, online rumors have been circulating that Towns will eventually reclassify to the class of 2014.

Towns is the only player in the class of 2015 who currently holds a scholarship offer from the Duke coaching staff.
