BYU rolls out red carpet for 2013 Duke target Jabari Parker

If Jabari Parker's recruitment were decided by the fan bases of his prospective colleges, BYU would win in a landslide.

This past weekend, Parker—the No. 2 player in the class of 2013, according to ESPN—was in Provo, Utah for an official visit. Cougar fans made sure that the 6-foot-8 small forward felt welcome on his visit.

A group of BYU fanatics produced a video titled, "Jabari Parker Style," to show the highly touted recruit from Chicago some love. Also, two diehard Cougar fans reportedly printed and distributed 6,300 t-shirts that read, "Chicago to Provo."

While on his visit, Parker watched BYU defeat Cal State Northridge 87-75 at the Marriott Center.

Parker, a devout Mormon, is considering Duke, Florida, Michigan State and Stanford, in addition to BYU. Stanford is the only school that yet to receive an official visit from Parker, who visited Durham earlier this month for the team's exhibition win against Western Washington.

Still nursing an injured foot, Parker is unlikely to play in his high school team's season opener this Saturday night, according to a recent article by ESPN Chicago. Parker has led Simeon high school to three-straight state championships.

And arguably the top priority for Duke in the class of 2014, Tyus Jones—the No. 1 player in the class, per ESPN—released a new blog entry on USA Today High School Sports. After visiting Duke in October for Countdown to Craziness, the crafty 6-foot-1 lead guard intends to visit Kansas and Kentucky in the near future.

Moving to the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2015, Karl Towns will announce his college decision next week on December 4. Towns, a versatile 6-foot-11 forward with perimeter skills, was in Lexington, Ky. over the weekend for an unofficial visit. He watched the Wildcats defeat LIU Brooklyn 104-75 at Rupp Arena.

All signs point to Kentucky head coach John Calipari landing Towns.

Following Duke's signees: Duke 2013 signee Matt Jones' DeSoto high school team (DeSoto, Tex.) is off to 5-0 start.

Small forward Semi Ojeleye—the Blue Devil coaching staff's other commit for the class of 2013—will begin his senior campaign for Ottawa high school (Ottawa, Kan.) this Friday night.
