Your Tailgate Working Group has been meeting, talking, deciding and negotiating all summer in order to bring you the best and Dukiest New Tailgating possible. We hope you’ve been seeing the articles in The Chronicle explaining the changes, but we wanted to give you a little bit more information as we head into our first New Tailgating this Saturday. We’re excited!
As you know, New Tailgating will be happening on Main Quad. Groups have registered to chill and grill on the main quad. Registration has been extended and will close tonight at 11 p.m. Some residential groups are hosting tailgates outside of their houses. There will be a DJ and speakers strewn throughout the Quad. There will be so much food! What we’re going for is a united student body experience to celebrate Duke football and our legendary school spirit. Think personal checks, but with football and on the Main Quad.
For those of you who went to our first home game against FIU (nice win, by the way), you saw how packed the stands were with students of all different years and affiliations. Everyone was in blue, cheering on our team. It was awesome. So, Duke, let’s get into Crazie mode. Lets revive the Wallace Wackos. Get on your Duke gear—maybe smear some blue paint on your face—and we’ll see you all on Saturday. GO DUKE!
