Another day, another injury for the Duke football team.
Redshirt junior safety Taylor Sowell underwent successful surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles, according to a press release from the team. He is expected to miss the entire 2012 season.
Sowell is just one of many injuries the Blue Devils have dealt with this offseason. Here are some of the others:
- Sophomore defensive tackle James Bruce had a stress fracture repaired in his foot.
- Sophomore wide receiver Blair Holliday suffered critical head injuries in a July 4 Jet Ski accident with fellow wideout Jamison Crowder. Holliday is now recovering at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Ga.
- Redshirt sophomore Braxton Deaver had surgery in July for a fractured left patella.
- Linebacker Kelby Brown still isn't fully healthy after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL in February.
