Reports: Hood chooses Duke

After a long wait, it appears Rodney Hood is coming to Duke.

Despite plans to announce his decision earlier in the week, and finally postponing an official announcement until Monday, reports surfaced last night that Mississippi State transfer Rodney Hood has chosen Duke. ESPN recruiting analyst Dave Telep reported the news on Twitter last night, with Hood selecting the Blue Devils over Ohio State.

The Duke sports information department said it is unable to confirm Hood's commitment at this time.

Hood, a 6-foot-8 wing player, averaged 10.3 points and 4.8 rebounds with the Bulldogs last season. He will have to sit out this season due to transfer rules but will have three years of eligibility left beginning in the 2013-2014 season.

Guard Matt Jones is the only other commit Duke has locked up coming in 2013, though the staff has extended scholarship offers to a number of players including the No. 1 and 2 players in the class, Jabari Parker and Julius Randle.
