Head coach Ramsey Smith and senior Torsten Wietoska were both honored with ITA Regional Awards for their performance this past season.
Ramsey Smith was named the ITA Carolina Region Coach of the Year. This was Smith's second time winning the award in his four years at Duke, previously winning in 2010. Smith led the Blue Devils to a 24-5 record and the number eight seed in the NCAA Tournament, a feat that hadn't been achieved since 2006. Duke's 9-2 ACC record was tied for the best mark in school history.
Torsten Wietoska earned ITA Carolina Region Senior of the Year honors. Wietoska joins 2004 winner Phillip King and 2011 winner Reid Carleton as the only Blue Devils to receive the award. Wietoska posted a 25-8 mark playing singles and a 20-8 mark in doubles.
The ITA national awards will be announced May 22.
Duke faces Baylor in round three of the NCAA Tournament in Athens Georgia this Friday.
